Are you an organized, detail-oriented professional with a passion for keeping operations running smoothly? Utah Transit Authority (UTA) is looking for a Senior Office Specialist to support our Salt Lake Bus Operations team! This position will aid with payroll while supporting 150+ hourly employees. Experience with unions is not required but preferred.
JOB SUMMARY
As the Senior Office Specialist for Salt Lake Bus Operations, you will:
- Assist the Manager of Service Delivery, Operations Supervisors in developing and implementing performance programs, projects, and systems related to service unit operations.
- Organize and document departmental procedures; prepare statistical reports and surveys; compose correspondence, agenda, minutes, etc.
- Assist management with day to day departmental, interdepartmental, and external communications.
- Appropriately handle highly sensitive and confidential information including research.
- Act as contact for Service unit policy, procedures, changes, and updates.
- Prepare and submit payroll for operators and administrative employees in Operations and Maintenance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
- Four years of experience in an office setting with demonstrated competency in:
- Developing and implementing performance programs, projects, etc.
- Organizing departmental procedures
- Preparing statistical reports and surveys
- Handling highly sensitive and confidential information
- Acting as a point of contact for policies, SOPs, and updates.
- Preparing and submitting payroll
- Associate's Degree required. Coursework in office management, business administration, and clerical support is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Windows, and Outlook at the Intermediate level, preferred
- Pass typing test at a minimum typing speed of 45 words per minute net, preferred

Pay Rate: $24.76 per hour
