As a Grants Post-Award Administrator at UTA, you will play a vital role in ensuring that federal, state, and local grant funding we receive is properly managed, reported, and utilized to support new and existing transit projects and initiatives. Your expertise in grant compliance, financial reporting, and coordination with internal teams and government agencies will help UTA maintain a steady flow of funding while meeting all regulatory requirements.

As the Grants Post-Award Administrator, you will:
- Need to be knowledgeable of all Federal Transit Administration (FTA) post-award grant management requirements.
- Administer UTA procedures for researching, applying, administering, performing, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local grants.
- Maintain grant historical data.
- Manage coordination with all grant project controls to ensure the timely and accurate submittal of all required reports, including FTA’s Milestone Progress Reports (MPR), Federal Financial Report (FFR), closeout reconciliation, and other reports as required.
- Administer FTA and other federal agencies’ post-award grant management functions, as well as state and local grant awards, ensuring an uninterrupted flow of federal funds.
- Act as an advisor to management regarding federal and other types of grants.
- Assist with UTA transit project reporting for federal planning and programming requirements of the Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), including MAG and WFRC, and grant programs with UDOT and FHWA.
- Assist with preparing UTA’s portion of the Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs) and the Statewide TIP (STIP) assembled by UDOT.
- Coordinate grant post-award activities with other agencies, provide assistance and advanced knowledge, and work within the Transportation Awards Management System (TrAMS), Grants.gov, and other electronic grant systems.
- Coordinate with UTA project managers to compile updates for MPR reporting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/LICENSES:
- Minimum of three years in transportation and/or financial planning, and technical and business proposal writing with demonstrated progressive competence in grant and/or contract procurement.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field with a specific background in grant management and administration, ability to interpret federal regulations, and technical writing. (In lieu of a completed bachelor’s degree, 4 additional years of experience will be considered)
- Must have extensive course work and/or experience in the principles and practices of grant management, business management, contract procurement, and have skills conducive to working in a federal grant environment with many agencies.
- Must have valid Utah driver’s license.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Must have technical research skills.
- Demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication.
- Excellent organization skills.
- Basic proficiency in operating various computer programs (i.e. TrAMS and Grants.gov systems, Internet Websites and Google, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Business math skills for preparing grant budgets.

Pay Range: $70,500.00 or more, depending on experience
