Come and be part of the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) – a major transit agency in one of the fastest-growing regions in the United States! As the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) expands and develops, UTA has an amazing opportunity for you as our Events and Sponsorships Coordinator. 

The Events and Sponsorships coordinator evaluates Utah Transit Authority (UTA)'s brand, public relations, and marketing presence through strategic event planning, execution, and sponsorship management. Develops and implements comprehensive event plans, securing and managing in-kind and paid marketing sponsorships, tracking sponsorship deliverables, fostering strong relationships with internal and external partners, and ensuring the successful participation or execution of events aligned with UTA's mission and goals. 

Creates, develops, and directs events and sponsorship buys and partnership programs to promote positive public relations. Coordinates all aspects of assigned events, including strategy, messaging, planning, submissions, run-of-show, displays, volunteer management, handouts, setup, and teardown. Recommends and executes marketing strategies to increase public exposure, including partnership collaborations and content sharing. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 
EDUCATION/TRAINING:   
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Event Management, Public Relations, Communications, or related field.
 
EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) to five (5) years related work experience with demonstrated competency in event planning, sponsorship management, public relations, written and oral communications, and/or government, media and social media relations.

 
Knowledge:
  • Understanding of event planning principles, including budgeting, scheduling, and logistics.
  • Knowledge of sponsorship strategies, negotiation techniques, and contract management.
  • Understanding of marketing principles, branding guidelines, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Awareness of current trends in the events and sponsorship industry, including Utah’s landscape of business chambers, industry events, political events, and sports and entertainment venues.
 SKILLS:
  • Effective time management skills to balance multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skill in negotiating with vendors, sponsors, and partners.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
 ABILITIES:
  • Adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Develop and manage budgets, prioritize spending, and optimize resources within tight budget constraints.

  • Identify and resolve issues effectively.

     
This job requires regular and predictable attendance.

This job is not eligible for telework. Requires regular and predictable attendance during set daytime hours Monday through Friday in the Salt Lake City UTA FrontLines Headquarters or field assignments.
 
May require infrequent holiday, weekend, or tasks and event support, with advance notice.

Pay Range: $56,000.00 or more depending on experience.
