Step into the driver’s seat of UTA’s supply chain operations as our Buyer Supervisor! In this pivotal role, you’ll lead a talented team of buyers who ensure that every part needed to keep our fleet moving is in place. As the Buyer Supervisor, you will:
  • Oversee the purchase of all parts required for maintenance of UTA’s fleet.
  • Supervise daily operations of Inventory Purchasing buyers and Inventory Control Analysts.
  • Maintain strategic supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, monitor performance, and expedite to respond to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Implement the strategy to provide the materials needed to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing.
  • Collaborate with other divisions to meet current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels.
  • Utilize technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands.
  • Perform auditing of purchasing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable State and/or Federal regulations.
  • Aid Purchasing buyers and Inventory Control Analysts on complex purchasing and inventory-related issues.
  • Assist Purchasing buyers with product research and alternative product recommendations.
  • Educate staff, employees, and vendors on UTA purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Advise UTA staff and management on problems concerning inventory, supplies, equipment, and services.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures, enforcing the Buyer Desk Reference guide, attending various meetings, providing training to subordinates, keeping abreast of purchasing regulations, and answering correspondence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING:   
  • Six years of experience in a Buyer, Inventory Control, or other related Supply Chain position.
  • Preference given to those with experience in State and/or Federal procurement policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
 
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Extensive knowledge of procurement job functions, best practices, rules, and regulations.
  • Extensive knowledge of ERP Supply Chain modules (Inventory management, Procurement, Warehouse).
  • Advanced level of knowledge in ERP inventory parts set-up and inventory management.
  • Leadership, mentorship, and an ability to motivate and inspire subordinates.
  • Proactive vendor management, including delivery performance and accurate promise dates.
  • Data analysis, problem-solving, use of metrics, and reporting to increase efficiencies.
  • Microsoft Office suite at an intermediate level (including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Manage workload effectively including adapting to changes, planning, organizing, and prioritizing work with little direction and supervision.
  • Work with accuracy paying close attention to details, using tact, discretion, and diplomacy.
  • Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with employees, peers, and suppliers.
  • This job requires regular and predictable attendance.

Pay Range: $70,500.00 or more depending on experience
