Job Summary 

Provides administrative and clerical support functions for Commuter Rail.  Serves as initial point-of-contact to the department. Supports and assists with coordinating various programs and special projects.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree in Business or related field preferred.

 EXPERIENCE

  • Two years in an office setting providing administrative or clerical support to include experience in office coordination between departments and/or divisions.
  • Must have a valid Utah Driver’s License, with no more than 4 moving violations in the past 3 years.
  • Cannot have more than 1 violation of driving under the influence of alcohol, any drug, or the combined influence of any alcohol or any drug within the last 10 years. 

KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of Vehicle Maintenance Software Preferred

SKILLS

  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer systems and operations at the intermediate level in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Pass basic Grammar test.
  • Type 40 net words per minute.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Perform basic data analysis, trending and tracking data. 

ABILITY TO:

  • Communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders, UTA managers, employees and vendors.
  • Work independently and as a team member.
  • Work under limited supervision.
  • Manage time efficiently.
  • Prioritize job assignments.
  • Handle urgent and emergency requests as needed.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Pass and maintain the requirements for a Train Operator license.
  • Interpret and accurately communicate UTA’s Policies and Procedures.

This job requires regular and predictable attendance.

Pay Rate: $21.635 per hour
