JOB SUMMARY 


Manages UTA procedures for researching, application, administration, performance, and compliance of federal, state and local grants.

 Administers Federal Transit and other Federal Agencies grants, also State and local grant awards, and ensures uninterrupted flow of federal funds. Acts as advisor to management regarding Federal and other types of grants. Assists Board of Trustees in meeting revenue goals through researching and receiving new grants and funding opportunities. Administers UTA transit projects for Federal planning and programming requirements of the Metropolitan Planning Organizations, MAG, and WFRC; and administers grants programs with UDOT and FHWA. Assist with preparing UTA portion of the Transportation Improvement Programs (TIPs) and the Statewide TIP assembled by UDOT. Coordinates grant activities with other agencies. Awards Management System (TrAMS), Grants Gov, and other electronic grant systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Planning or related field with a broad background in grants administration, ability to interpret federal regulations, and technical writing.    Must have course work and/or experience in the principles and practices of business management, project management, and/or have skills conducive to working in a federal grant environment with many agencies. Must have technical research skills.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of three years in transportation and/or financial planning, and technical and business proposal writing with demonstrated progressive competence in grant management Demonstrated ability in written and verbal communication. Excellent organization skills. Basic proficiency in operating various computer programs (i.e. TrAMS and Grants.gov systems, Internet Websites and Google, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). Business math skills for preparing grant budgets.

Must have valid Utah driver’s license. Must be a safe driver with no more than 4 moving violations in the past 3 years and no more than 1 conviction for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs in the past 10 years.

STARTING PAY RATE: 
$69,000.00 - $80,000.00 annually Depending on Experience
